Kendall is a 2½-year-old from St. Henry who was born with CMV (Congenital Cytomegalovirus), which caused profound hearing loss and significant developmental delays. At just 9 months old, she received cochlear implants, and although she is currently non-verbal, her entire family has learned American Sign Language to communicate with her. Recently diagnosed with cerebral palsy, Kendall continues to work hard to reach milestones—having begun to crawl at 26 months and steadily building strength and coordination. Kendall requires ongoing daily therapies, including physical and occupational therapy, as well as specialized Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) therapy, which is not covered by insurance. She also travels regularly to Columbus for multiple medical appointments to support her continued development. Funds raised will help provide access to these critical therapies and necessary equipment, giving Kendall the best opportunity to grow, progress, and thrive.
Tricia Sovek is courageously battling cancer while facing recent complications that have made her journey even more challenging. After being hospitalized with severe numbness and mobility issues, she was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis—a rare neurological condition caused by inflammation of the spinal cord as a reaction to her immunotherapy treatments. This has resulted in significant pain, weakness, and a temporary pause in her cancer treatments while she undergoes intensive steroid therapy. As doctors work to determine the next step—whether resuming immunotherapy or pursuing alternative treatments for inoperable tumors—Tricia continues to focus on spending meaningful time with her husband and young daughters. Despite the uncertainty, she remains hopeful and determined to make the most of each day. Funds raised will help ease the burden of medical expenses and allow Tricia and her family to focus on care, time together, and creating lasting memories. With continued support, prayers, and hope, Tricia and her family are holding onto brighter days ahead.
Troy Geier, the 10-year-old son of Steve and Ashlie Geier, was diagnosed with cancer last year after doctors discovered a tumor that was later removed through surgery. While the surgery was successful, cancer cells remained in his spinal fluid, requiring him to undergo the most aggressive chemo-radiation treatments available for a child. His treatment plan includes approximately 30 radiation sessions followed by nearly a year of chemotherapy, along with long-term therapy in the future. Throughout this difficult journey, Troy has shown incredible strength and positivity, earning the title of a true “rockstar” from those who know him best. Supported by his loving family, faith, and an outpouring of community support, he continues to face each step with courage and determination. Funds raised will help support his ongoing treatments, therapies, and care, while offering hope as Troy continues to fight and work toward brighter days ahead.
